Belle Aventure was restored by Southampton Yacht Services Ltd in 1990
Belle Aventure was designed
by W. & R.B. Fife and built from teak on oak frames as a
gaff-rigged ketch. SYS carried out a major refurbishment of the hull
and decks. Her original deck fittings were painstakingly restored and
the wood used was so thoughtfully chosen that one would have to look very carefully
to distinguish original wood from new. Belle Aventure has been in class with Lloyds
more or less since
the early post war years and SYS has worked closely with surveyors to bring
her back to Lloyds 100A1.
