Hetairos is a 140ft Bruce King design, built at Abeking & Rasmussen and launched in 1993 as a modern classic global cruiser. With her powerful ketch rig she has also graced the maxi race circuit, winning admiring looks and a clutch of silverware.

Her time at SYS was dominated by two major tasks – repainting the topsides in classic black and gold livery, and the removal and service of her huge bronze centreboard, control mechanism and hydraulics. In addition to a major main engine service various small refit tasks were carried out on deck and in the galley.

The work took place inside our main refit shed where a specially built paint tent was erected to ensure the light, ventilation and heating was completely controlled to ensure the best possible finish.
