Thendara is a beautiful ketch designed by Alfred Mylne and built in Scotland by Stephens in the 1930s. She was purchased by SYS' clients in Italy as a bare hull with alterations to the hull unfinished and no deck and no interior. The brief was to completely refurbish her for a fixed budget to enable the new owners to use her as a classic cruiser racer.

The rebuild involved topside planking, new deck, deckhouse and all deck fittings, complete new interior in Brazilian mahogany, full engineering and electrical systems, rigging and sails. The result has been an extremely successful yacht, both racing and cruising, built to a very high standard but not attempting to be completely authentic as there was really nothing left of the original.
